How it works.
As a general rule, Companies House requires that all Directors give an address of contact when registering themselves as a Director for a corporation in the UK. Up until 2009, the only addresses you were able to use was that of the Directors place of residence. This address was readily available on the Public Record.
An obvious concern of all Directors in the UK was that their residential details were open for anyone to find.
As of the 1st October 2009, Companies House released a new Act titled Section 243(5), which allows for a Director of a company to use an address other than their personal address, which is made available to Public Authorities and Credit Reference Agencies.
It's very similar to that of
Registered Office Address, which is used by corporations themselves, except this service offers the same functionality, only for an individual being a Director of such said corporation.
City Office now offers you a choice of different locations to use for the use of Service Address, otherwise known as Directors Address. If you're looking for peace of mind, safe in the knowledge that your home details are safe from access on the public domain, then this service is perfect for you.
For users that already use an address for Service/Directors Address and wish to change location, then please feel free to download the "
Change of Service Address Form".
